I will start with the ones I have actually worn at work...

Same badge but fatter... not sure why they changed?

There are many more out there and if anyone has any spares I would be very keen to come to an arrangement...

Hi Tonks!

Here are some more:

Image

The top 2 were made in Bahrain in 1991 before the war kicked off; I've never been brave enough to check whether the Arabic script didn't say something rude! Rather a 'hand made' effort, the name patch - and we wore it on those ridiculous 'light weight' light grey flying suits which the DetCo had decided upon. No fire retardant properties and they became grubby after one flight in them!

The lower one is from KKIA after Desert Storm began. Brand new and never worn as I bought 2 of them!

PS - do I detect a certain 'Aroma' about your last patch......

Well we instructors did go through a few changes of patch in the early 1990s Tonks! First we were 241 OCU AAR flight, then in October 1993 we became '55(R) Sqn (The VC10 OCU)' and then in August 1994 we went back onto the strength of 101 Sqn:

But 'you know who' would go nuts if we ever tried to call ourselves 'Tanker Training Flight'! Although within minutes of him handing over, we replaced all the signs and flying suit patches to become 101 Squadron TTF again at last!

And don't forget the special badges we had Aviation Leathercraft make for our Aircrew Leather Jackets:

Sadly, it all seems rather a long time ago now. Did I really do 5000+ hours on those wonderful jets....??

Ahhhh... remember all those. Still have my red leather name badge. Looks like my last VC10 flight will be next week... will miss the old girl! Only managed 3600 hours though!

Get some in, you slacker  !

But you're going to love your new jet - and in flight it's almost as pretty as the VC10. Almost - but nothing (except Concorde) will ever really beat the Super VC10 for true elegance.

Yeh, I know!

The 330 is a good looking Airbus but you are right, the Super VC10 is hard to beat for elegance! I was down at Brooklands at the weekend having a good look at their (standard) 10 and Concorde... both beautiful!

Mine was last Friday, unless I suddenly pick up another this week. :|

I will match yours and up you another 5! Well, that was at the last time of looking at the fleet plan. Playing musical engines soon.
Never had a GE's wallet. It was always empty when I got back but I always had a smile on my face :-)
