One thing that I'm surprised no one picked up on was that during both passes, the sole K4, ZD241, that was expected by many to be one of the 3 in the formation was actually doing high power engine runs against the detuner at the exact time of both flypasts. So at least it got in on the action of a kind! The revving of its Conways was almost timed, it seemed, to co-inside with the 2 formation passes.

Having being very intimate with that aircraft over the years on Majors and Minors I would say that it probably had 4 engine changes on arrival back in the UK. If there was ever an aircraft that was trouble for us, (apart from that hybrid 101), it was that one.
Pipes that had been shoved up holes that no human being will ever be capable of getting to without breaking a limb. Pipes that simply are not on any other aircraft and pipes that ARE on other aircraft but are not the same, (if you get my drift) :?

Anyone know when ZD241 is due to go back to the Falklands or is due to fly again?

I suppose that that depends on the ops side. 241 is only capable of IFR, (being the only one of her kind), and that is all she really needs to do down there. I would expect her to spend the rest of the days down south for as long as it can whilst Voyager sorts it's problems out.

Voyager will be a major asset to put in that theatre so I could see some gap in deploying it there. So long as the 10 can do the IFR role in that area it makes sense to keep that restrictive airframe where she is.

Can't remember where she is in the drawdown, (4 months is too long away from the drawdown plan to remember, bearing in mind the Keo I have been having)
