Hello all, thought I would update the patch/sticker collection thread I did a while ago with the collection so far... they are getting harder to find. First of all the patches:

10 Sqn

101 Sqn

All slightly different, from various periods of my time with 101... they kept changing size!

1312 Flt - Falklands

VC10 Training Flt

Ground Crew badges

... and finally a BA brevet that belong to a VC10 Flt Eng.

So, if anyone has anything that is not here and they are willing to sell I would be really interested... happy to pay good money (or swap... I have a couple of spares from the above) ;D

Got a better one of these this week with no damage :)

These are temporary Tattoos, so I have shown them as seen on the backing and then reversed as they would be seen on...

I am sure I have some others so will tag them into the post. I have not bothered with the Sqn Crest stickers I have..

Anyone got any others???? As before, more than happy to buy ones I don't have...

Tonks ;D

Odd to think that the patches had to wait for flying suits being worn - no place for them when we were operating in KD or Blues! And amongst the stickers, I'm most impressed by the B-47/VC 10 amalgamation - "Ten a-burning and none a-churning" to paraphrase the old B-36 saying. It marks the Station's post-WW2 history in a most appropriate and imaginative way. (When I went out on exchange with the USAF in the early 70s, I was quite surprised to find the Chief Nav on the squadron had lots of 'Reflex' detachments at 'Brice Norton' behind him, and was quite familiar with the area.)

Would love those 1312 ones, is there anywhere where these may be available or are they as I'm thinking pretty much impossible to find? :(

Hi Tonks,

A couple of mine from the 1991 Gulf War:

The 'barbed wire' could be something rude, as far as I'm aware!

Good night on Friday.... :)

Back in 1982 during Operation Corporate I was detached to RAF HQ STC at High Wycombe. An officer called into our office after returning from visiting Washington. He reported that many Americans were wearing lapel badges that featured the Union Flag with lettering on the top reading, 'Falkland Islands' and on the bottom, 'The Empire Strikes Back'.

Remember we spent some time gathering up Harrier technicians and putting them on a VC10 to the Ascension Island, only for them to be sent back, as the Ascension Island liasion officer had not been informed the a/c was sheduled.....crazy but true.

Slightly ot but during the first gulf skirmish BP painted the Company shield on the r/h fwd fuselage of the 10's and added "The Empire Strikes Back" script
