Can anyone tell me which VC10 was on static at Fairford in 2009?
Naturally I got a really good photo of it

A quick Google search shows ZA147 was present in 2009.
You got one more shot of her than I did! **hangs head in shame**

Hehehe thanks FP! I have 2 other excellent shots of her, 1 of her nose next to the Nimrod and the other of her tail next to the E-3

My pleasure Helen.
I must have been walking around with my head in a bucket 'cos I can't even remember seeing a 10 there. Guess i just wasn't tuned in to the very finest things in life back then.

Me either, the past few weeks I have been rescuing data from my old hard drives hence I have been looking back at aviation photographs. First off I found that single photograph of Duxford's 10's cockpit, cleverly I only transferred a few photo's from Duxford onto my hard drive and that Fuji Finepix (complete with memory card with more VC10 photo's on it) went to the local tip many years ago! Then tonight I was actually trying to find a photograph of the Nimrod at RIAT when my jaw hit the floor at seeing there was a VC10 there. I swear I never even saw it even though I spent a good hour drooling over the Harrier that was parked almost opposite it... how on earth can I walk past a VC10 and 'miss it'? Well, you answered my question, others can too
I have just desperately gone through all my Farnborough photographs from last year and thankfully there wasn't a VC10 there for me to miss!!

All of my VC10 photographs, apart from SGC at Duxford and from Brooklands on 29 June 2012, were taken in the late 60s at Heathrow with a camera that used Kodak 120 film.

That's the benefit of film, you can't accidentally delete something, although you can throw away/lose the pics and negatives which is a bit of an issue!
I spent months and months a few years ago trying to find someone to process a few old cannisters of Kodachrome, they eventually had to go to the USA and came back several weeks later!
