VC10 aerofoil section

Post by khowlette »

Hi
I'm building a Radio controlled VC10 http://www.rckeith.co.uk/vc10 its well on the way and I've got most of it drawn up in cad. I remember sometime ago I found the aerofoil section of the wing but can't seem to find it now. I'm just about to start on the wing and wondered if anyone knowes the name of it. I was going to use a Clark-Y section.

Hi Keith,

Have to say I have never seen a name for the aerofoil section and have just had a look at the Aircrew Manuals and (not surprisingly) there is no name there. Lots of other details such as sweep, area, etc...

A place to have a look may be the Lance Cole VC10 book, but as far as I was aware the VC10 was pretty much the first airliner to have a specifically designed wing which did not just pull a wing section from a catalogue...

Sorry, not much help, but I would be very interested in what you may find out...

Tonks :D

PS... Hope we see some pics of the model!!!
