More vc10s to bruntingthorpe soon?

Post by AJW »

Are there new arrivals expected into bruntingthorpe?? I have just been to brize after a VC10-less day at fairford and there sits XV102 on the ramp with no re-fuelling pods on her wings........just like what happened to 109 and 807 prior to getting scrapped.................

That doesn't mean anything... occasionally the aircraft are flown without pods!

Aah, OK....What would be the purpose of that? Seems like pointless work to me.......

Trust me it is not pointless as we wouldn't do it otherwise!!!

What is the reason behind it then? From an outsiders point of view, it just seems like a strange thing to do.....take off the only part of a plane that allows it to re-fuel other planes!! :/

We don't just refuel other ac though... it allows you to carry more cargo or fuel and fly further due to the reduction in drag... so occasionally it is worthwhile!
