'Bob' is on the move
Hi all,
Not sure if this item is posted elsewhere but I just read in Flypast that 'Bob' is in the middle of being dismantled and on it's way to Cosford. Apologies if I am duplicating info.

The last I heard, probably on this forum, was that dismantling will take some considerable time, and there are no dates set for the actual move, though this summer would seem likely.

She is a tough girl to dismantle I would imagine. I watched a standard being broken up at LHR once when the standard wrecker unit blew itself apart trying to break the centre box.

Hi,
Out of interest how can one keep up with the moving process? Is there a web site?

The Facebook page is 'open' as far as I can tell, so that anyone can have a look at what's posted there. Just use this link:

The team has made some good progress towards the move and this is all being done with care. Bob is in good hands!

Re: 'Bob' is on the move
You were right, I've moved your post in here to keep the news about Bob's move together. Hope you don't mind Rob68!
Good to hear that the first bits have arrived! Moving the small bits is easy, it will be interesting to see what will happen with the fuselage and wings!

Gary is hoping to be able to move the fuselage in one section, subject to final route planning.

That would be great! The inboard wing sections will most likely have to come off before that can happen though. Or is there a route that will accept a wide, long load?petet16 wrote:Gary is hoping to be able to move the fuselage in one section, subject to final route planning.

Once you've got onto the A14, it should be dual carriageways all the way to Cosford.Jelle Hieminga wrote:That would be great!
