VC-10 unbuilt variants in books

Post by Hobbes »

In addition to 'Vickers VC10: AEW, Pofflers and other unbuilt variants' there are two books that contains lots of information on unbuilt military variants of the VC-10:

- 'Nimrod's Genesis: RAF maritime patrol projects and weapons since 1945' by Chris Gibson
- 'Listening In: RAF electronic intelligence gathering since 1945' by Dave Forster and Chris Gibson

Good tips, thanks! I have only briefly looked at one of these books recently (cannot remember which one now) but will see if I can add them to the site too. If others would like to know more, see links to Amazon.co.uk below (click on the images):

two more, again by Chris Gibson:

- The Air Staff and AEW: RAF airborne early warning projects (*)
- to be published later this year: On Atlas' shoulders: British Military Transports. This will contain at least one Vickers transport project loosely based on the VC-10.

Nimrod's Genesis, Listening In and The Air Staff and AEW all have some overlap with 'Vickers VC10: AEW, Pofflers and Other Unbuilt Variants'.

*: This and other books in the Project Tech Profiles series may not be available via Amazon, but can be ordered direct from the writer at blue.envoy.services@googlemail.com

More info on all these books can be found in the forum at http://www.secretprojects.co.uk/
