Me too. It looks like tomorrow's departure from Leuchars will be the last time I'll see the old girl with air under her wheels.Magnum wrote:That's not good news, all my plans are based on the original date of September 23rd.

Just got down to brize, 3 1/2 drive, p***ing down and there's nowhere to park near 26 end. When did the grass parking spots by the crash gate become an entrance gate??

Those are the gates used for the repatriation flights.jonf45 wrote:Just got down to brize, 3 1/2 drive, p***ing down and there's nowhere to park near 26 end. When did the grass parking spots by the crash gate become an entrance gate??

So I see! Have now changed onto runway 8, but ita still heavy rain. On the plus side, za150 has just departed as Ascot 848, with a very spirited departure

Good effort, hope you got some good shots? Both Vickies flying today then, with 147 back from Leuchars? Busy enough day with a nice Algerian Herk in this morning, a Madras and another Voyager (RRR9430) taking a trail of 2 Tornado's down to Cyprus? Tristar RRR3247 was due in at 1340L as well.jonf45 wrote:So I see! Have now changed onto runway 8, but ita still heavy rain. Must be a year of two since they put the posts next to the Britannia Gate to stop parking on the bank? Of course, no one is going to suggest you should park in front of the gate.

Re: lets keep a close eye on the survivors
Hi guys, good day after how it looked in the morning. Great to see both jets flying, and 150 treated us to 5/6 circuits extra! Tartan 11 arrived back on time, though had problems due to the crew believing a refuelling probe had broken off and may have remained in one of the baskets! Photos and vids to follow.....after I dry off!!

Does anyone have information regarding the flying trip on Friday that can be posted here?

Any flying on Friday will still be an an operational aircraft ob active service. Although the details may eend up in the public domain they are regarded as classified.Simon Tidswell wrote:Does anyone have information regarding the flying trip on Friday that can be posted here?

Am I the only one thinking that's it for operational flying for the VC10, it's been horribly quiet in the last week ?peak45139 wrote:Last movements were last Monday.

As has been indicated elsewhere from various sources, the end is nigh...
...be there on Friday from about 0900 local to avoid disappointment

Re: lets keep a close eye on the survivors
I believe the aircraft going to be used for the flypasts will be ZA147 as there are photo's on the BZZ Facebook page showing her being given a good clean with the caption "Victoria (ZA147 'F') taking a shower before her next commitment".
