More updates on 241/G-ASGM......

Post by Magnum »

.......will hopefully follow this week.

The plan is to get the remaining engines connected and if time allows go for an engine start.

On the assumption I don't repeat my last performance and bend the car on my way, I will post some videos for people to see.

Looking forward to seeing progress and of course the big day in May for the taxi run. Good luck with it all.

Great progress today. All four engines now connected. Hoping to do some dry cranking later this afternoon.

Looking forward to seeing a video of the first dry run.

I wonder if Brooklands have any plans to run 150 any time soon?

Well, after a great day today all four engines have been run on 241... all flying controls, flaps/slats, brakes, TPI etc working and great results with the hyds and electrics all serviceable first time!

Pics to follow shortly... ( Edit: three pics here.)

That's great news!

I was at Brunty earlier today, looking over two of the Tristars and saw lots of activity around 241. I missed hearing the Conways starting up though :-({{|=

Hi Bill...

Yep we had a very busy day... finished connecting up engines 2, 3 and 4 (I am now an expert on connecting the hyd system, throttle and various drain pipes) before dry and wet cranking. Finally ran the engines around 16:15.

Nice to hear the Conways running, or rather nice to see others enjoying it, I'm experiencing an overwhelming sense of deja vu here!

Any activity planned for next week? I've got a week off and depending on transport arrangements (=MOT) may be able to get down for a day at some point. I may be skill-less but I'd lend a hand where I could... :)

Charlie,

Not likely to be anything for a week or two. A lot depends on the shift patterns of the guys helping do the work.
