Tristar Fleet

Room for non-VC10 related issues, anything fits in here actually.

Engineering support was also provided by BA staff at Brize.

All making sense 100% now, I guess they all needed to be trained before being let loose ;)

I noticed from GJD's Facebook page that at least one of the Tristar's has now had the US registration number applied and the RAF number removed. Wasn't sure if any of the airframes may have been moved aswell. There's no further details though on Facebook. Has anyone heard any rumours whether any will fly out soon?

Nope I heard nothing since they went into Bruntingthorpe, hoping some can get some shots of them departing, that's whenever they do ;)

There is a nice video of one of the T*s getting an anti-det run at Bruntingthorpe recently, on GJD's Facebook page. Looks like they are going to be there all winter unless anyone has heard anything? Presumably the intention is still to fly them out since engines and systems are being run regularly.

Hello to you all
As you might know that a year tomorrow (25/03/2014) was last day and flights on the last remaining 4 Tristars operated by the RAF. I was lucky enough to be Brunty on that day driving the TMV ambulance from Brize that was providing emergency cover for the Tristars. Whilst there I was able to photograph and video their arrival.
Here are a few pictures of ZE704 & ZD950, I have vid's of ZD948 & ZD953 I seem to a few problems uploading the vid's but once soughted i will post them.
Many thanks

They are still at Bruntingthorpe as far as I know. One of them will be used in next Sunday's photo event but I don't know anything else I'm afraid. I'll post some photos next week.

The project that was aiming to use them lost the contract. After that, it was a matter of time before this was due to happen. Sad, but inevitable. I guess you've seen the photos here: https://forums.airshows.co.uk/viewtopic.php?t=87074
