VC10 & Tornado Flypasts Fri 20th Sept
Information taken from UKAR forum so presume it's OK to post as NOTAM's will be issued soon. I'm gutted not to see Yeovilton on the list

Sadly neither aircraft is scheduled near southern bases.Thumper wrote:Information taken from UKAR forum so presume it's OK to post as NOTAM's will be issued soon. I'm gutted not to see Yeovilton on the list

Pity St.Athan isn't being visited either
That's possibly the closest I could do on Friday.

Yep, Brunty was the last time for me especially as the Photocall was flooded

I can't believe for 1 second that St. Athan will be left out of it. That was the home of depth maintenance on the type for 17 years. Have to have a chat with ops
Never had a GE's wallet. It was always empty when I got back but I always had a smile on my face

VC10 & Tornado Flypasts Fri 20th Sept
Summing up from the UKAR posts:
Feel free to take lots of photos and post them here!
There are a few slightly conflicting times in there but I've just copied them so I cannot vouch for the accuracy of the data. The NOTAMs may also have changed, I didn't check this.RAF Lossiemouth sometime between 12.50 & 13.10 (VC10 and Tornado)
RAF Leuchars sometime between 12.25 & 13.10 (VC10 and Typhoon)
RAF Coningsby sometime between 13.50 & 14.20 (VC10 and Tornado)
The above are all LOCAL TIMES
The NOTAMS say:
Newcastle , 11:05-11:35 & 12:20-12:50 (VC10)
Warton : 11:25--11:55 (VC10)
Prestwick , 12:10-12:45 (VC10)
Coningsby : 11:50--12:25 & 12:50--13:20
Marham : 12:05--12:40 & 13:05--13:40 (VC10 and Tornado)
Birmingham : 12:30--13:05 & 13:40--14:05 (VC10)
These are UTC times, so add one hour for local time.
Feel free to take lots of photos and post them here!

I'm going to be at Newcastle - although I'm not sure what the NCL connection is, I'm more than happy about it. Particularly as I definitely can't make Brunty next week.

... and don't add TWO hours for local times as you will be ONE hour late!!!!!! UK local is UTC + 1 hour!
Might be out of the sim in time to see them come back to Brize... hope so as I am away all ned week so will miss the delivery flight!

Where's that smiley that bangs its head against a wall.... Sorry guys, UTC + 1 is of course correct. I was confusing things with cloggy-land over here.

Re: VC10 & Tornado Flypasts Fri 20th Sept
I shot over to Coningsby from Peterborough at lunchtime (all done in an hour and back at my desk...honest Guv!)
A really good single flyby by an immaculate Vicky 10 which arrived in a 3 ship with two Typhoons which broke away approaching the threshold leaving the prettier jet to take centre stage which was followed by a spirited display by one the Typhoons.
Best lunch hour I've had in a while but such a shame to see the end of the VC10 era
I'll put up some pics later today.
