%MAC Mean aerodynamic chord and empty CoG

Post by vololiberista »

Does anyone have these? Both for the Standard and Super. I have some numbers but can't verify them as real.

XV107 without AAR pods weighed in at 69593,7459 kg with a moment of 159,342. That would give a CG location of 22,896% SMC if my calculations are correct.

For the Super all I have is the loadsheet on the site I'm afraid: http://www.vc10.net/Photos/memorabelia_1.html#Loadsheet
Buttons . . . check. Dials . . . check. Switches . . . check. Little
colored lights . . . check.

Thanks Jelle,
In the end I used the figures on the load sheet and was able to interpolate the CoG from that.
It had "laden Index less Fuel 2.71" equivalent to the zero fuel weight inches from datum. So I put the weights in and apportioned them either side of an imaginary datum until I got 2.71. Then I added the fuel but it was clear that there was also some fuel in the fin tank which I estimated as 1,500kgs.
I made a guess as to the moment arm of the fin tank and shock horror got 3.82 TPI trim. So the numbers were correct at both ends of the scale. I played around with various numbers and most of them seemed plausible so I think I'm in the ball park "just"!!

Bearing in mind the standard has no fin tank, which I imagine you know already.
