At the age of 14 way back in 1970 I travelled back to England from Lusaka(Zambia) on a Super VC10 of BOAC. I was lucky enough to get a cockpit tour. This memory has stayed with me ever since.
I've always thougth the VC10 was one of the most beautiful airliners along with Concorde. Anyway I fly Radio controlled aircraft and I 'd like to build a VC10 to fly. But searching on the net there seems to be little in the way of plans or drawings. I did find a site with a Radio controlled Ilyushin IL-62 but it was only pictures. Deso anyone know where I can get any plans or drawings.
Thanks
Keith

Re: Radio Controlled VC10 - need help with plans/drawings
I have now managed to produces some plans and taught myself AutoCad in the process. I have used scanned drawings and purchased a vector format drawing form a very nice french lady.
Anyway I've started a build log on my website for anyone interested. at http://www.keith-howlette.co.uk. Plans as well underway and I hope to have it flying early next year. Its going to be about 60-70" wingspan powered by 4 electric ducted fan motors.

Thanks.
Plans are getting close to being finished and I'm started to build some of the formers for the fuselage. Will post pictures up on my website asap.

Looks like 2010 is going to be a good year for Radio Controlled VC10's
Chris Golds a renowned RC modler is building one which will be published around April this year in Quiet Flight International. It's going to be fairly large and towing to Jaguar's as if they are refueling
With a little badgering from me Mike Black and Green Air Designs is building one that should be avaiable as a kit this year. Some pics here http://www.greenairdesigns.com/lab/inde ... Itemid=112
My own build is comming along and I have started on the fuselage some intial pics at http://www.rckeith.co.uk/vc10
