Great to see a site dedicated to the best airliner that ever flew.

My father Stan Williams was a BOAC VC10 skipper from the early days of the aircraft until his retirement in 1973.

At the age of 83 he is now in a nursing home near Southampton, and has but 1 picture on the wall in his room - The VC10 in BOAC Cunard livery. He is still tremendously proud of the VC10 and misses the "buzz" he used to get when flying it.

If anyone remembers Stan and wants to get in touch - let me know.

Keep up the good work.

Hi,
I am not a pilot but an aviation and flying enthusiast.
Incidentally, I am the nephew of Capt. rufus Orimoloye who I noticed you made some really great reference to on your site (i.e under incidents..)
He (capt Rufus Orimoloye)is well and 'kicking' (though he's retired now) and currently lives in Akure, Nigeria.

I like your site (not just because you mentioned my uncle..!! laugh!!)
But I think it really is very informative, educative and ...great images

Brilliant!!
After spending 9 wonderful years working on CMk1's, K2's and K4's at Brize both on the Flight Line (LSS 'B') and in Base Hangar, it is so nice to see a site dedicated to such a great aircraft.
I worked on them between 1978 and 1989 so if anyone needs to get in touch just mail me.

I'll be back!!

Mike

Well Done! Nice to see a site for this beautiful aeroplane. I have many happy hours flying in them as a passenger. Also saw them on a regular basis when I served on Gan, Akrotiri and Brize Norton. I still find them fascinating to watch. A truly remarkable site, yes the aeroplane and this one.

From an 'old time' VC10 Base Flight Manager it's good to see a site so lovingly put together about an unsung hero of the RAF
Best of Luck to all who flew in her and maintain her memory

A great site dedicated to a great British plane! Well done! For a few more "Shiney 10" pictures visit my RAF Gan site above. This island in the Indian Ocean was a frequent refuelling stop for 10 Sqn`s VC 10s.

Hello, I have always admired the VC10 aircraft and I go back along way with it. I was at RAF Changi in Singapore, between 1968 - 1971, where, the aircraft was a regular visitor, in RAF Transport Command livery. I have always fancied having a car registration VC 10. I have often wondered why these aircraft are not used at airshows. I can often remember standing watching these aircraft take off at Changi and getting a fix of roaring jet engine (not dissimilar to a Vulcan) and crackling air, and I wasn't alone, believe me. Particularly attrative aircraft in landing pose I think. Thankyou for the site and an opportunity to rabbit on.

Bye, Keith Horry
