Hi all
Have just noticed that there is a small "hump/lump/bump" about 3ft long by 1ft wide, starting about 2/3 of the way back on the starboard outer Conway, that does not appear on the port outer.
Can anybody tell me what it is / why its there?
Thanks
Paul

You are probably talking about what we sooties call the thrust reverser panel. The linkage, cams and Sequence Selector Valve are behind it. It has its own panel because we need to get to it for various servicing activities. There is not one on #1 ECU because it is on the right hand of the thrust reverser. The access panel for that one is underneath, (although it is usually easier to drop the rear lower panel to get at it.
Hope that helps

Never had a GE's wallet. It was always empty when I got back but I always had a smile on my face

Spot on (as of course you would be Laurieg
)... I used to ask that as part of the walk-round and it confused many a new co-pilot as they tried to work out what it might be!

Yep, you gave me that walkround "hole-ology" lesson! I think we were in Cyprus or Norway!Tonkenna wrote:Spot on (as of course you would be Laurieg)... I used to ask that as part of the walk-round and it confused many a new co-pilot as they tried to work out what it might be!

Charlie,
Us GEs used to have the holeology thingie as well. In my time the main culprits for this were guys like John Norman, Brian Purser and chief winderupper Bill Ward, (I mean that in the nicest possible way Bill)
. They took me out on a few as a U/T but seem to enjoy pointing at holes that should have fasteners in them
Kept me going for hours until I gave up!
