The 10 in the Falklands is usually a K4 as it has 3 hoses and the lower of the fuel loads of the tankers. The C1K is avoided if poss as there is no requirement for 130 odd seats an the K3 is avoided as the high fuel load is not needed. The ideal ac was the K2 (well acually it was the Herc Tanker but thats a different argument) but there are no K2s left.
Welcome aboard Cap10. I will answer your email when I get home and arrange to come over and have a look at the documentation at some time soon.

There is no permanent VC10 based at FI, the aircraft changes on rotation about every 4-6 months depending on operational requirements. The aircraft just returning is a K3 and this is being replaced by a K4. There has been one instance in the last 3 years that CMk1 has been at FI but this is extremely rare and avoided wherever possible.
