RAF Tristars at Hannover Airport

Hey guys,

as there seems to be quite a lot of interest in the L-1011 at the moment, due to its impending retirement, I put together a selection of some of my RAF Tristar pictures taken at Hannover airport (HAJ) over the past few years.

The three ex-PanAm Tristars were the most common sight at HAJ, as they bore the brunt of the Afghanistan air bridge flights in recent years:

Although the six ex-British Airways Tristars were less regular visitors to HAJ, there were still some great opportunities to take nice photos of them:

Those really are delightful shots Chris. It's funny how the Tristar like others before it, becomes more likeable the closer it gets to retirement. I can't say that it had much appeal to me until the last couple of years but now I can already feel the regret form not taking enough photos

How true your comments are Mark.

I much preferred to spend time at Fairford watching B 52s and KC135s almost totally ignoring the VC10s at Brize.

A great thing hindsight !
