Post by Jelle Hieminga »

Some wonderful air-to-air shots of XV105 in this PPRuNe thread: http://www.pprune.org/forums/showthread.php?t=299877

More info about the trip on this page: http://www.targeta.co.uk/air2air_101sqn.htm (links to more photos from other occasions are at the top of the page).

They are good aren't they...

Have you seen the Gemini Jets model of the same jet:

Picture here...

Available at http://www.airspotters.com, a very good service from them... got mine yesterday and it's very nice!

Nice photos indeed! I've seen the Gemini model, I try to keep an eye on the CAM website and the local Aviation store. For now I'm keeping my money in my pocket although I was tempted when a model of A40-AB turned up. The problem is that I've got two models from Corgi on the way (don't know when they'll be arriving though) and I'll have to think of a good excuse to reserve room for a third

I'll need to update the VC10 models page with all the new Gemini and Inflight 500 versions.

Are you also aware that Magna Models released a resin 1/72 kit a couple of weeks back. Goes for about £95 direct (magna.models@ntlworld.com) or £99.99 at Hannants (although they appear to have sold out already)...

I wasn't aware of that one, no. Thanks for the heads up!

Jelle,

I got hold of the Magna Models kit today. Would you be interested in some photos of the unassembled kit (and its very big bits!) for the website?

I would like to see that if you could post some Charlie... wouldn't buy it as a) Mrs T would kill me b) I am rubbish at models and c) no where to put it as I have a few VC10 models now  , but would like to see what it's like.

When Mrs C brings her camera back I'll take some (or I could get my camera out of the car and charge it!).

It's quite large (2ft by 2ft, so god knows where I'll put it!), and sadly (for me) the decals are from the 10 Sqn era - but I've found a retailer who produces 1/72 decals of '105 in its 90th scheme.

Very nice of the shop not putting the price in the box labelled "price". Easier to get it past Mrs C!

Just to lend scale, that's the Gemini 1/400 XV105. :D

Hi Nick... good to hear from you on here. I know what you mean ha ha ha ha ha

I think Charlie might have given up on the model and sold it though :-)/\/\/\)

All the best,

 Yes - reinvested the money elsewhere. Nowhere in the house to put it anyway. The 1/400 Gemini models are more "acceptable", if you get my drift! :D
