Interesting pic... Might be a K2... One of those survived a while after they were chopped.

Location? Can have a look on Googly maps.
Source: http://www.the75andztclub.co.uk/forum/a ... 53830.htmlIs this the first aircraft for sale (well ,cockpit)?
I have been asked by a good friend of mine to assist with the sale of two pieces of aviation history.
The cockpit and some front fuselage section from the following aircraft are available:
ZD240 VC10
XR810 VC10
As there are quite a few aircraft enthusiasts on here I thought it would be worth mentioning.
These cockpits have been cut from the airframe at below floor level and sit well at present on two railway sleepers. Both have been cut aft of the cockpit door by a couple of foot.
Please bear in mind that they are fairly well stripped and should be considered a serious project. However, this is a one off opportunity.
Collection is the buyers responsibilty and a lorry and hiab crane will be nescessary, they are located in North Hampshire.
I will get some pictures shortly.
PM me for details
£800 each:lol:

From the VC10.net homepage;
After a little more Google research I have found out I think everything I can on this. The 'yard' is in Crondall, Hampshire and there's plenty of aircraft there including a Jet Provost and actually 3 VC10 cockpits; XR810, ZD240 and ZD230.

I have just looked on Google Earth and I *think* I am looking at 2 VC10 cockpits here, although I could be very wrong! The imagery date is 6th June 2013 so it's possible that they are still there. For anyone wanting to have a look on Google Earth here are the coordinates.

________Remains of RAF VC10s scrapped
D. Charles (via e-mail) & GJD Services, December 2006
A visitor e-mailed me to let me know that the remains of the last three VC10s to be decommissioned at St. Athan have now been scrapped by Farnborough based GJD Services Ltd. These aircraft were C Mk.1 XR810, K4 ZD240 and K4 ZD230, which was the Super VC10 prototype. One photo on the website of the company shows the three flight decks standing next to each other, having been cut away from the rest of the airframes (one of which is visible in the background). Perhaps these will become available to enthusiastic cockpit collectors? I'm sure that there are people out there who would like the opportunity to add a VC10 cockpit to their collection!

It's sad if ZD230's last remains are languishing in some farmer's field - on 15 Dec 1994 I collected her from Filton and I recall how beautifully she flew. 8 years later, on 29 Nov 2002, she was the last K4 I ever flew....
