Just got mine today can confirm it has an HDU, pretty disappointing - apart from that a cracking model, really nicely done.

Very disappointing, especially as the artwork on the box appears to be correct with no hdu.

A real shame that, I was thinking about getting one but think I'll skip it now.
I continue to be amazed that these companies make mistakes like this. You'd think that they would take the trouble to check a book or two, perhaps a website?

Pleased to see my Gemini 'Bob' arrived safely in the post today. As Jelle and others have said, what an opportunity missed. In so many ways this is a delightful representation of a C.1K but I can't help but know that the inclusion of an HDU leaves it completely unrealistic. It's a shame the model designers didn't check out this and other similar sites. I'm sure the assembled knowledge of our membership would have put them right!

Especially as their previous C1K models didn't have the centreline hose!

Yes ... their 1/400 models were spot on. This is a massive cock up in my view.AJW wrote:Especially as their previous C1K models didn't have the centreline hose!

Collected mine from the shop today, I must echo all of the above, cracking model! But XR808 never had an HDU so why add one now

The HDU addition was the reason I didn't buy one. Its such a shame as otherwise it looks a cracking model

If I could fit a real one in my garden I would of had one by now
Will just have to settle with my forever growing collection, up to two display cabinets now

Well I was ummming and ahhhing about one, but now I have seen it I will certainly not get one. I had pretty much decided only to get models of ac and schemes I had flown in and I never did fly BOB in this scheme, however, I did like it so was tempted... the HDU sadly has put me off though. It is such a basic error and is really very poor on an expensive model.

The seller on FB bragging how many he's sold, and adding that if you sell to the right people they'll fly out the door, I wonder how many of his buyers are aware that they've paid £50+ for a non existent version of a 10, a very cynical way of doing business, especially as he was made aware of the glaring inaccuracy

I know this is an epic fail by gemini themselves but I'm afraid to say business is business and people regardless of the slight mistake in the models look still want to buy this model....... I know the HDU is a major blow in the models make up but I've managed to position mine in a way it isn't very noticeable, as I'm sure others have??

Would it come off Andy? .... I mean if it were carefully persuaded.
Are there markings also asociated with the HDU on this model which would need to be removed? ... just a thought
