At long last, the final scrappy is nearing completion. We are all glad to see an end to the CRP. None of us enjoy stripping aircraft down, the type of work is not forfilling and does not give you any pleasure.

The next Minor is on the way in and we can get down to some real work, along side the new Major. This will be a first for us in that both aircraft will be working in the same 'pod' within Red Dragon. With the new staging and a more integrated set up perhaps we can put aside the vague future that MOD has given us and get on with a brilliant job, on a brilliant a/c. :D

It certainly does not take you long to dispose of these aircraft.I was only flying in XR 810 in Oct.I was told that she was for the chop then.I suppose it was due for a major and with the attitude of the treasury towards the armed forces we should not be surprised.Sad it seemed to be in good order, one or two bits of trim inside wanted sorting but otherwise OK.

It was a shame to see that one come in. I learnt a lot about the aircraft from that frame. On the lighter side, when stripping these aircraft out you come across numerous messages, (hardly any that I could copy here), usually signed by guys I well remember. I think they must have had a rave in that one, judging by the number of messages on the centre tank walls!!!
