Google Earth VC10 challenge

For those of us with too much time on their hands I've come up with a small challenge: find as many VC10s (or remains thereof) on Google Earth as possible. My attempt is stuck at 13 locations showing 16 airframes (or major sections) which are shown on this page: Google Earth VC10s. The only prize you'll get is a pat on the back from yourself and a smug feeling but for anyone interested visit the page above for more details. If you don't want any clues then just start now.

This is in a way an extension of a previous topic here.

Download Google Earth here if you don't have it yet.

There may well be more locations than the ones I've found, so if you do find another VC10 then post about it here, either give a clue or just tell us where to find it.

Enjoy!

How about these...

See those dark smudges on B1 & 3? When I was a pimply SAC I was forced to be posted to TASF in 77, (you can imagine I went screaming, not).

The punishment for being late, or when the boss had a bad day, was to get a bass broom and bucket of Genklene and get them scrubbed off. Looks like they have dropped that idea. I know that when I was posted there again in 95, (I really did get the rubbish postings), I was not allowed to introduce that prime job because of H & S

Anyway, back out there for 3 weeks on Saturday for my hols. So I hope everyone enjoys the rain! I am going to enjoy looking at the stars from the bottom of a Monnie ditch. 8)

From that angle I think your right. You can see the longer TPI bullet.

Didn't think any of them were flying anymore.

Does Comrade Castro know that you're peeking into his backyard Tonks?

That teaches me for assuming that I've found a lot of locations! I'll certainly need to broaden my view so to speak! I'll update the page soon to include these ones. Thanks guys! =D>

Now one in flight would be nice
Plenty of other aircraft caught but haven't found a VC10 yet.

Found a link sometime ago where you can use this software to overlay Google Earth with flight paths of particular flights. Called LiveATC or something like that. I use it for a while but did a clean install without saving it. Can't find it now but that might help to track down destinations.
