VC10 Seychelles to Columbo 1978

My friend flew on a VC10 from Seychelles to Columbo on Sept 7/8 and 9 September 1978.
He says it was British Airways and challenges me to find out the aircraft registration for flights on those days.
Now I have no chance at all of tracking that down but it's just possible someone on this forum is way smarter than me.
Please help if you are able; it would be much appreciated. Even a point to a resource would be so helpful.
