On the Concorde SST forum we have been discussing how a VC-10 can be preserved in flying condition when the RAF retire them. its only the beginning of an idea but if it is to get of the ground someone will have to start planning soon so that the problems faced by the national air pagents comet are not repeted.
if you think this could be done please visit the forum

Hi there,

Would have replied to the post but joining the forum seems to require one to sign up to some sort of offer. Not giving the old email account out for junk mail.

I think it would be safe to say there is little chance of keeping a 10 flying, sad as it may seem. It would be hugely expensive, I doubt anyone (inc BAe) would take on the design authority, and the jets will be totally knackered when we have finished with them.

I think a true pariot who might be good to approach here is - Richard Branson. He was FUMING that BA wouldnt let him take over the Concorde fleet as a firend of mine used to be his PA! I think he would WELCOME this especially if if would incorpoarte his 'flying lady' logo in some tastefull location.

However I believE a VC10 with his nose art would look AWESOME. Give Richard a call when the time comes.
