Is it true that the VC-10 no longer flies to Ascension and then the faklands from Brize?

The VC10 has never done that schedule... it was the Tristar. That is now flowm by an A330 of Air Luxor. The 10s that got there are on the 3 monthly or so frame rotation of the tanker at MPA.

They did in the early days goto Ascension routinely in the early days post Falklands conflict - the trooper flight left Brize about 0900, stopped to fuel in dakar, then on to Ascension. We stayed overnight on the Island, then flew on to the Falkands (normally with a thumping hangover)
