Re: VC10 & CWJ photoshoot at Brunty Nov 17th
Thanks for that! I see the problem with the Facebook page now, every time I try to open a link like that I get sent to my own page. As I don't have a Facebook profile I cannot access pages like that or so it seems. I only have the Facebook page for the site.
The Lightning Preservation Group may not display their Lightnings on the day if the weather turns out to be bad. Still, it will be an impressive line up!

I think they should add a Cessna to the Cold War line up, too. After all, it must be the only Western aircraft to slip through Soviet defences and land in Red Square

Indeed a super event with a LOT of hard work gone in to getting the aircraft tugged out and lined up so nicely. I really wish Brunty was closer, would have loved to have been there today but hoping photographs will surface over the next few days on here, UKAR and Fighter Control!

After a few hair raising miles on the motorway nursing a badly slipping ckutch I had to turn back home. Really p****d off now.
I did my good deed for the day by helping out at an accident but the gos weren't smiling on me today.

It was good to be there but the weather did us no favours.

Great shot Ranger!! A real shame it was so misty today, not good for the photography side of things but I bet it was still great to see such an amazing line up of aircraft!

An excellent experience, although that platform left me a little seaskick At full height, it seemed we were just a little higher than the tailplanes of the VC10s (so 40 feet at least!)
On top of all that, I met with Gary, who very kindly drove me up to his yard to pick up a few more bits and pieces for my collection- a cutout from the fuselage of ZA149, and another overwing emergency exit, this one from XV102. GJD had thoughtfully noted down that it was the rear door on the rig hand side. There was an area of woodland in the compound full of all sorts of interesting things: engine pods, tailcones, leading edge slats, a galley, ELRATs, wingtips. And several carports (!) made from fuselage sections. That's my idea of DIY I will try to post pics in due course.
Bill.

Thought I would include a picture of ZD241 which may not be long for this world-- missing engines and its refueling probe.
I really must take the opportunity to thank all at Bruntingthorpe who made this event happen and for the use of the 'work platform' for the elevated views of the ensemble.
Cheers
Bob
