Although I don't have any specific info yet, I've been informed that 'Jock' Bryce passed away recently.

I would've expected one or more of the big newspapers to pick up this bit of news, but nothing so far. That in itself is sad.

'Jock's funeral was in Leatherhead on 23rd May 2014. The Scotsman has an obituary: http://www.scotsman.com/news/obituaries ... -1-3429605

Its a nicely written obituary, certainly a lot of things I didn't know about him. Amazing that he cut the grass at Brooklands, were you ever on a day he did that Jelle? Amazing such a celebrity doing that but I guess he must have enjoyed keeping the museum in good order.

No, I've never met him unfortunately. He may have been at the museum while I was there but I was not aware of that at the time. I do know that Andy Lambert did meet him in such a situation, see about 80% down this page: http://www.andylambert.com/andy/ (with small photo).

I guess it's a measure of the man he was. We may see him as a celebrity but for him it was just another job that needed to be done. Flying a prototype, cutting the grass, the obituary mentions that he also ran a 'luxury cat hotel'. It's good to see that he is getting some attention in the press now.
