Saw a VC10 lift off from MSP around 10:40AM 1-26-07. Not what you call a regular aircraft around this area. Would be interested on what it was doing here.

Hi, I'm an LAC in the RAF and just out of training and starting out my career. I've been posted to 101 Sqn at Brize Norton as an engineer so I don't think I need to justify my interest in VC-10's much more! I'm now spending every day in and around them!

I flew as cabin crew on the 707/vc10 for BA, back in the late 70s, with very fond memories of such a superb aircraft. It was a strange sensation recently standing in the aft galley of the vc10 at Duxford. It was like being in a time warp, and all those memories came flooding back...the Karachi nightstops, 5 day Daccas, Tehran, and those awful trips to Cairo, the "terrorist run to Beirut and onwards to Baghdad...I went to all the best places!!!. The "mini fleet" was a great community, I still often bore my family with anecdotes. Congratulations on a superb site.

Good news about Corgi bringing out a VC10 model, I emailed them about 3 years ago about this. However the pictures of the subject aircraft look like Super VC10 fuselages but the models chosed are the shorter Standard version, anyone else noticed this?

Great memories. My first posting on leaving Halton was to Brize in Jan '67.Did my VC10 electrical engineering training at BOAC in Cranebank. Worked at Brize until '74, bending and mending them in the big hangar on Base Servicing. Worst memory was seeing the BOAC VC10 blown up by terrorists somewhere in the Gulf region. Otherwise, happy days!

Hello, I was fortunate enough to have the benefit of a BOAC apprenticeship during the early 70,s.
Good, and not so good memories, but the good ones are of the shifts working on VC 10s (transits & majors). Ken Horwell are you still out there ?
Bad ones are watching my beloved aircraft being broken up with heavy plant for scrap.
I don't work in the industry now but still have fond memories of thr times when I did.
Anyone from class of 1971 at Cranebank?
Regards
