This is a great site. The VC-10 has always been one of my favorite aircraft. I was fortunate to fly on BOAC's planes many times in the 60's & 70's. Keep up the good work!

Great site! Im currently flying a Citation X, on Thrusday 06/29/06 I saw two RAF VC-10's on the ramp at Dulles (KIAD). Lots of questions about the aircraft all answered thanks to your hard work and research. Thanks again

Great Site. Grew up next to Brize Norton, the VC-10 has always been my favourite aeroplane. Made 2 flights in Super VC-10's to/from SA in the 70's.Sad to see the number of active airframes dwindling. Must make another trip to Brize before they are all gone!
Cheers
Paul

cabin crew on mini`s (term used by BA crew for the VC10/707 fleet) from 74-80 Having spent several happy years down the back is probably why I am a little deaf now! Two questions though ,why did the E/O scare me frequently when he popped the engines whilst balancing them? and what ever happened to the fantastic model of the VC10 in the pegesus reef hotel, Colombo that spent most of it`s time in the pool doing ditching trials

Navigator and instructor for a number of years on 10s - Queen of the Skies - between 1972 and late 80s. Then at Boscombe doing among other things converting 10 Sqn aircraft to tanking. Remember well the day we almost went supersonic, the old girl loved it. An unforgettable aircraft.

Was lucky enough to fly with BOAC on VC10s from Jan 1974 until the last BA VC10 flight through the middle and far east to Hong Kong and Tokyo and back. Lots of great memories of a wonderful time and a wonderful aircraft. Tristars were never the same.
