Great site. I flew once on the 10 from Nassau to Kingston, Jamaica via Montego Bay. The flight originated in London with a stop in New York. 1969. Anyone remember the flight #? Also worked as refueler in Toronto. Interesting thing about the 10 when you are fueling the fin tank. The tow tractor had better be hooked up to the nose wheel or else she will lift the nose off the ground. Remember that pole that was hooked up under the tail to the ground?=)=)

I was "weened" on the VC-10 at British United Airways starting in 1964. The Conway was the first engineers licence that I obtained after months of studying. Then moved on the the "Supers" at East African, finally providing TLC for 7Q-YKH of Air Malawi(having spent hours on her with BUA as G-ASIW. Great aircarft to fly in not so great in places to work on

Hi, found this sight thanks to Archer on the Flypast forums (it's his signature) and it evoked many happy memories of flying on the VC10 from London to Khartoum and back when we lived in Sudan in the sixties (my Dad was a maintenance inspector with Airwork Services contracted to the Sudanese AF). We aslo regularly flew on Comet 4Cs of Sudan Airways but the comparitive luxury of the Vickers was special (as was the quiet!).

Great site, great aeroplane and I too was a member of the Junior Jet Club! Sadly lost my logbook and badge on a country transfer one year though.

Well done, I'll be back.
