I llew as an ALM on 10 Squadron from 1967 -1970 So many happy memories of a wonderful aircraft. My gateway to the world. For those interested there is a 10 Squadron Association and there are reunions held annually at Brize Norton=)

Please forgive me for venturing from your subject (VC 10's)but I am searching for some information. In November 1957 I flew from Prestwick in Scotland to Montreal Canada by BOAC, and I wonder if some BOAC enthusiast can advise me of the type and model of Plane that would have done that flight, all I can tell you, is that it was a Prop and not a Jet, Thank you for allowing me to use your site for asking my question.

Possibly the best site about anything that I have ever seen. I am an aircraft enthusiast and have always had a special feeling for the VCIO more than any other aircraft...perhaps this is due to the fact that I was born on 12th May 1964 which I believe is 5 days after the inaugural flight of the Super VC10. Oh!! to get one last flight on a VC10. Congratulations on an excellent website. Anthony

Good VC10 Site. Tells a lot of stories about this magnificient plane.

I have never travelled in a VC10. I had only seen a real VC10 in Hong Kong when I was still a boy 40 years ago - at that time air travel was so out of reach for a poor family. I loved the look of it and always look for good picture of it. Ever wondered how the 4 Conways can be attached to the fuselage so securely. Such a big pity that the plane is taken out of civil aviation. Will keep visiting this site while memories of good things stil remain.

Regards,
Cahrles, Hong Kong.

I stood not 10 yards away from a BOAC/CUNARD SUPER VC10 on the ramp in Chicago O'Hare where my father was stationed with Aer Lingus in the early seventies. I could almost reach out and touch her. She was simply stunning to behold, resplendent in her Navy Blue and light grey livery. She was surrounded by 707's and DC8's on all sides but they were consigned to the ranks of the ordinary by comparison. I have never seen, before or since, anything quite so beautiful. What a terrible shame she was so un-economic to operate.
