VC10 memorabilia

Post by ficelles »

I have some VC10 memorabilia from my late father's effects that I would love to find an enthusiastic home for (he worked for Vickers then through all the various company amalgamations and name changes up to the mid 80s)... there are some excellent large framed photos and a selection of professional models (I think including a double bubble one and another in Air Canada livery).

Free to a suitable good home but must be collected from Devon.

I'd love to give some of it a new loving home, but I am too far away :(

Same here, Devon is quite a detour from Amsterdam. A shame as I'd love a look at the models, could you post some photos perhaps?

Hello ficelles

I also worked at Brooklands for a short while, in the early late 60s and I would be very interested in the memorabilia.

I live in Somerset, so quite near to Devon.

Best regards.

Dave

p.s. What did your late father do at Brooklands?

Hi ficelles,

I have just logged on after being away from the forum for quite some time. Hope you don't mind me asking. It's about a month now since Dave (Manofmendip) replied to you expressing an interest in the VC10 memorabilia. Have you any photos left at all? I live in Somerset too! I used to be a RAF brat and flew to Singapore and back in the late 60s. I was in awe of this beautiful plane as a kid of 11 years, just listening to them take off at nearby Changi airport gave me and my pals goosebumps...the thought of it all still does...am I sad?!? :? :D

As the post was made some years ago now and it was ficelles only post I have a feeling the stuff has gone. I did exchange emails with him at the time but was unable to get down to the location. I have a feeling some of it was put on ebay but not 100% sure.

Oh Goodness thanks for replying so quickly and many apologies Tonks, how silly of me to overlook the original date posted....yes I see now that I mistakenly looked at the 'last post' and inserted Manofmendip instead of you. Not a great start to my return. :( Oh I realise now just how sad and senile I'm becoming :D Nice to get an understanding message from you tho and not like those that I often get from fleabayers, I shall continue to correspond on this forum because of little things like that cheers Steve
