My wife and I adore the VC10 as we met on one whilst we were both working for BOAC and have now celebrated our 40th wedding anniversary. For some time now I have been trying to get a part of the aircraft as a souvenir. Can anyone help? Ideally an interior door handle would be the perfect item but I am happy to consider anything that will bring back memories of such a superb aircraft.

Re: VC10 Souvenir
Hello Frampers
I wish you luck with your quest.
Personally, I'd love a whole Super VC10, in flying condition, complete with crew and spares; I think that they are the most beautiful airliner ever built.
I worked in the Main Drawing Office Library at Weybridge just after the last East Affrican Super flew out to Wisley for testing and delivery. I used to chat with Ernie Marshall, the Senior Project Engineer on the VC10 project, and he was a wonderful and fascinating man and the daddy of our subject of our mutual adoration.
Best wishes.
Dave

Frampers, suggest you get in touch with GJD Services LTD. These are the people at Bruntingthorpe who have been chopping up the RAF's VC10's there. Their website is www.gjdservices.co.uk. I'm sure if you contacted them they'd be able to help.

Gary Spoors has done well, I knew him when he was an SAC at Brize.
