Queen's Birthday Flypast 2013 inc VC10

Post by AJW »

If any of you see this before tomorrow, get yourselves to Brize or the Mall in London.....The queen's birthday flypast this year is due to feature a VC10. If the MoD's plans stand, it will be the last time the queen of the skies will be involved in the QBF :(

Very sad times, but at least she is being included this year! I can't think of may other types still in front line service 50 years after their maiden flight!

I believe it will pass over Buck Pal at around 1200. Trooping of the colour starts at 1030.

It would appear the flypast is actually due to take place at 1300 in London, so I'd expect them at 1310-1320 over Brize.

I was at Brize getting soaked to skin when they arrived.

Watched the red arrows flypast, peel out and land from right at the end of the runway.

Stayed until voyager and the 10 had landed then decided I to give in to the rain and have a very soggy drive back home.

Sadly I only had my phone with me so not much in the way of pictures due to the weather. Need to learn how to edit video before I can post one of them.

I was totally taken by surprise as the Red Arrows flew over before landing.
