G-ASGC Photo

Post by Thumper »

Just managed to mount an old hard drive and was looking through my aviation photo's and came across this shot I took of the cockpit of Duxford's VC10! I'm gutted I only have this 1 as I remember taking lots of photo's on the walkaround but I guess I never put them on the computer and that old Fuji camera is long gone!

So I was wondering if anyone has any shots of G-ASGC and wanted to share them?

I took some pictures of her in February 2009, unfortunately she wasn't open to the public that day

Nice photos.

One thing that is very noticable if the lettering is painted now on SGC but when I used to see the BOAC CUNARD Supers, brand new, at Wisley the lettering was goldleaf, I think, and shone and gleamed.

That's correct, the original version had very shiny lettering and 'GC has a 'dulled down' version. I guess the gold leaf was a bit too expensive for the BA advert...

Compare this shot of G-ASGE:

colored lights . . . check.

Ahhhhh... that cockpit looks very familiar and homely!
