VC-10 reverse thrust

Did the conway engines on the VC-10 use external clamshell (like on 737-200's) or internal reverse thrusters?

Hope this helps... they are bucket reversers that are enclosed within the cowlings and the air is passed through a grill:

This might be pushing it, but do you or anyone else know the difference between the reversers on the VC-10 conway's and the ones on the 707 conway's? i'm guessing they didnt use the 'bucket' method!

They were originally fitted to all four engines, but the inboard reversers caused fatigue on the fin due to fibration...

Not sure about the 707 I am afraid...
