VC10 Vulcan AAR ?

been asked the question did a VC10 K2 ever tank a Vulcan.
Looking at dates first K2 flew 22 Jun 82 and didn't enter squadron service till 83. With the Vulcan due out of service I can only assume if it was ever done it would have to of been ZA141 during trials flights.

I asked around and got the answer 'no'. The VC10 was never cleared to pass fuel to, or refuel from a Vulcan. As the Vulcans were leaving service while the VC10K was working up to its operational status there was no need to clear the combination. There is a faint chance that an odd one-off trial was done but the guy I asked would have known if it had been done.

In late 1983 the VC10K2 was cleared to pass fuel to Phantoms and Nimrods. From that point on other types were cleared over the years. As a receiver the VC10 was cleared to refuel from Victors and Tristars, and of course other VC10Ks.
