Hello everyone. I'm a longish-term lurker and thought it about time I joined in.
Living in Northumberland it's been a bit difficult to get to see much VC10 action on a regular basis but I try to get to Brize as much as I can. Inevitably that's not anywhere near enough!
I often used to fish at Lechlade and can remember seeing VC10s on almost permanent circuits shattering the peace and quiet. If only I'd known then what I know now...
Anyway, by way of introduction, I hope you don't mind but I thought I'd share with you some of my photos of the most beautiful bird to grace the skies.
Anyway, I hope I haven't bored you all too much. I just wanted to thank everyone who's been involved in flying and maintaining these ladies of the sky.
Absolutely fantastic photos. Really like the sun down one. Brings lots of memories of landing home just in time for sundowners, (always comes back to booze, doesn't it) Had many of trips of being " lunch critical " That photo reminds me of they all!!!!!
Never had a GE's wallet. It was always empty when I got back but I always had a smile on my face
Perhaps keep an ear to the ground over Brize Norton Families Day which is early September. It coincides rather well with the VC-10 retirement so I'm putting 2 and 2 together here and thinking that may be a good day to visit!

Me too!
Brizefest also coincides rather nicely with my 50th birthday on the 9th. I just hope my wife hasn't arranged any surprise parties. [-o<
Oooooo, perhaps a little hint in the right direction that it is unacceptable for parties to start before 8pm which should give you enough time to get down to Brize and back
